Windows 10: Unable to access data on external hard drive; connected, drivers updated, but unable to...

I recently replaced the enclosure on an external hard drive, device connected and drivers were installed. But I cannot find the drive under "This PC". Attempted to run device troubleshooter but the troubleshooter has been retired. Included is a screen shot of the drive listed in Device Manager, drive ID is highlighted in blue.

Am unable to access my transcend external hard drive..

Beginning this afternoon I have been unable to access my hard drive
When I plug it into my computer it keeps blinking and blinking light.
Towards the tail end of the compter accessing it.
What can i do?

I wonder if anyone can assist at all?

I use external hard disks for storing music and other media multimedia content, as well as for moving data between PCs. Earlier today though, all of a sudden, Windows was unable to access the drive the PC in question referred to as G:\.

Numerous attempts to use G:\ on the PC failed, and I was also unable to have another machine access the drive. The icon for the drive would simply not appear in Windows File Manager. Consequently, I was unable to run CHKDSK in any PC mode because Windows could not access G:\.

Checking the logs of the PC in question, I did find this message:





Presuming the on-line scan referred to is Windows Defender, I tried an on-line scan but it seems that these only look at the C:\ of a PC.

So, I either have to replace the disk in question, or can anyone suggest what might be a way forward?

Unable to access folders in external hard drive

As you are unable to access the files and folders from external hard drive, do let us know the following to assist you better:

• Have you logged in as an administrator?
• How have you connected the hard drive to Windows 10 computer?
• Were you able to see any error code along with the error message?
• Is this issue specific only with the files and folders in the external drive?
• Have you tried to access these files on different computer?
