Windows 10: Unable to Access Microsoft Account After Password Mistype

Hello Microsoft Community,I recently purchased a laptop that came bundled with Microsoft Office 2021 Student and Home, along with Windows 11 Home Single Language. During the setup process, a sales executive who sold me laptop advised me to create a new Microsoft account and entered a new email address at the Laptop setup screen. Unfortunately, I mistyped the password during setup as microsoft do not asks for confirm password and now find myself unable to log in to new devices.To make matters more challenging, the sales executive did not add my alternate email or phone number to the account. Kid locked out of Family account. Unable to change password

We understand the concern as you are unable to change your child’s Microsoft Account password. In this scenario, we would suggest you to perform these steps.

1. Login to
   www.login.live.com using your child’s Microsoft Account.
2. Click on forgot password.
3. Check the radio button and enter the Email account to send the code.
4. In case you don’t have access to that verification email account then click on
   I don’t have any of these.
5. Now follow the onscreen steps and check if you are able to reset the password.

Let us know the results. If the issue persists, we will certainly assist you further.

App store and Microsoft account

Thank you for the advice

I see what you mean about the password but i think its a backward step to compromise my Microsoft password to to use the app store

 

Trying to switch to Microsoft account from local, unable to...

I tried that, more than once. I go thru the complete procedure of getting a new Microsoft account password, then when I reach the final step to key in the Windows password, I try my NEW Microsoft account password, and I get the same message-invalid password. No luck. Any other suggestions.
