  1. Unable to access newly created Microsoft account

    Hi!

Need help! Bought a new laptop and thought of creating a new MS account during the start-up wizard assisted by Windows Cortana. The problem is that I couldn't access this email account! Now I get this notification under 'Shared Experiences Account' stating some of my accounts need attentions and then there's this 'Fix Now' button. When I click this button, it asks me to enter the security code sent to this newly created email account and again the problem is I couldn't access this said account! I tried accessing outlook to add this new email and even tried using my phone to add this email but it all leads to the same requirement of adding the security code send to this newly created email address that I can't access! It's driving me nuts! I hate seeing this newly created email address tagged as the 'Administrator' when I couldn't even access this account! I just want to delete it altogether and use my existing Gmail account! It was a mistake to create a new account! Please help either how I can change the Administator account to my existing account or how can I access this stupid newly created account!

    :)

  2. Unable to access Start menu, Search bar after installing the latest update on Windows 10.

    Hi Dave,

    Thank you for responding.

Do confirm us if you are not facing any issues on new user account?

If so, I suggest you to convert the Microsoft account to local account, and convert newly created local account (with no issues)to Microsoft account to transfer the user content.

Step 1: To convert the Microsoft account to local account, you can do the following:

    • Sign in to your Microsoft account on Windows 10.
    • Press Windows key, type
      Settings
      and select it.
    • Click Accounts and Sign in with a local account instead.
    • Enter your Microsoft account's password, and click on Next.
    • Type in a Username, Password, and Password Hint that you want to set for your Local account and click
Next. Click on Sign out and Finish button.

Step 2: To convert Local account to Microsoft account, follow these steps:

    • Make sure you are device is connected to internet.
    • On the newly converted Local account (with no issues), press
Windows key, type Settings and select it.
    • Click Accounts and click on Sign in with a Microsoft account instead.
    • Follow onscreen instructions.

Step 3: Once the newly created local account is converted to Microsoft account, you can log-in with this account, try to access
This PC and copy the contents from the old user account to a newly created user account.

    Steps:

    • Press Windows + E, click on
This PC in the left pane.
    • Double click on C: drive (Usually where the operating system is being installed)
    • Double click on Users and older user profile folder.
    • Copy all the content from that user profile to the newly created user profile.

Hope it helps. Try the above and reply to the post with an updated status of this issue, we will be happy to help you further.

  3. Unable to create account

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

To understand the issue better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

    • How are you trying to access this option?
    • Do you have any other accounts that you are able to login?
Try to Enable the Hidden Admin account:

From Login Screen try the below steps.

    • On the sign-in screen, hold the Shift key down
while you select Power > Restart
(in the lower-right corner of the screen).

    • After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select
      Troubleshoot
      > Advanced options >
    • Click on Command Prompt, type the command and click
      enter.

    • net user Administrator /active:yes
(there is a space after administrator)
Restart the computer to login to admin account
and then create new user account and check.

Keep us posted to help you better.
