    Unable to access sound settings

I am currently unable to access my system's sound settings, hear sound, or process anything containing audio. Earlier today I attempted to download Rode Connect, once downloaded I was unable to access the system's sound settings. Upon seeing this I uninstalled Rode Connect in order to attempt to undo the problem, however in doing this I lost all audio after installing rode connect the only input and output working was directly through my rode microphone. In another attempt to fix this problem I ran command prompt to locate and repair any corrupted files Sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cle

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue Unable to access sound settings :p

    Thank you for the reply.

I already have "hidden files" checked.

    To clarify :

Unable to access sound settings [IMG]

    2) Unable to find file where it is supposed to be located based on the "File location" path:

Unable to access sound settings [IMG]

    3) What I get when attempting to look at "Security" tab:

    Sound card amplification settings

Yeah unfortunately ASUS and Realtek are not stepping up and fixing this it seems. Wherever I see such problems mentioned on forums some users are suggesting just uninstalling the Realtek driver and using the Windows audio driver.
