Windows 10: Unable to access USB drive

Hi,
I'm using windows 10 enterprise x86 on my HP laptop (15-AC122TU). For last few days I'm unable to copy/delete any file to/from my pendrive, not even able to format it.

While formatting (fat32/NTFS/fat) : "Windows was not able to complete the format"
While Copying/deleting : "Destination folder access denied....You need permission to perform this action"
While trying to format from Disk Management : "The format did not complete successfully"

In properties screen some of the options like "security tab" are missing. Please help me to come out of this problem. I'm attaching all the screenshots herewith for your reference.

Note : Previously it was working fine. I have tried to format and copy some files in another laptop (win7) with the same pen drive and it's working fine.

Unable to copy files into USB Device and unable to format USB device

Hi,

I'am using a Lenovo Ideapad 320S. I'am unable to copy files into any of my USB storage drives (Hard disk or Flash Drives or SD Cards).

Each time I try to copy the files from my local hard disk files to my USB Drives I get a message "You'll need administrator permission to copy this folder" with options of Continue, Skip & Cancel. When I click on continue, I get a message "You'll need permission
to perform this action".

Moreover, I'am unable to format USB drives as it says "Windows unable to complete Format".

Unable to understand the genesis of this issue.

However, I'am able to copy files from the USB drive to my local drives.

The above issues happens for all types of external drives I try to access through my laptop.

Please help resolve this issue.

 

Windows 10 red screen restart loop

Hello Team,

I was able to get Windows 10 onto a Usb drive and plugged into the laptop. Still unable to access anything in the computer to even access the file within the Usb to reinstall Windows.

The PC starts with a flash of a red screen them immediately directs me to normal log in. Once pin is entered I am again still greeted by the red window stating Windows ran into a problem and needs to restart. Unable to access settings, unable to maneuver
through anything and the PC proceeds to restart. Again, I have held down F1, F2 & F8 during the booting process in hopes of gaining a different menu to access the USB. More details would be preferable in breaking down steps to access Windows 10 on the USB.

 

Just that one thumb drive, or all thumb drives? Was that PC issued to you by your employer?

 

Sounds like your employer has set some restrictions using Group Policy.

 

Hi,
I'm facing this issue only with that drive, I mean any USB drive (memory card, pen drive). It's my personal laptop, I'm the only user.

 

Why is it running Enterprise? Did you buy it used?

 

Try creating a new user with admin privileges and see if your the missing options are restored in that profile.

 

That's what I was thinking? Or it's infected with malware?
