Windows 10: Unable to Activate Build 10049

    Unable to Activate Build 10049


    Several Days ago I updated my 10041 build to 10049. When I went to This Pc I was told it was not activated. I tried to activate on line but was asked for the product key. That I don't have nor can I find one on the web for my 64bit version. Do I really need to activate?

    Will someone please tell me how I can get a product key for build 10049 so I can activate it.

    Stuck on build 10049

    It will expire and then that's it. You have no choice but to upgrade to the official Windows 10 build 10240. You say you were running with Windows 7 before you installed Windows 10 build 10049? You'll have to go back to that version then go through the
    free upgrade path. If you don't have sufficient disk space, you'll need to upgrade your hardware to support it.

    Thanks Badrobot. I tried that key and go a message saying, "That key can't be used to activate this edition of Windows. Please try a different key."
