Windows 10: Unable to activate Microsoft Flight Simulator (Gold Edition) Error: 1-80004005

I've loaded this product 9 times and keep getting an error code 1-80004005. I called M support about 5 or 6 times, there are pretty useless. How can I get rid of this code?PLEASE

Here are steps on how to edit the registry of Flight Simulator X:

1. run regedit (Windowskey +R)

2. Expand the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\CLASS\{4D36E967-

E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

3. After you find the folder, double-click Upperfilters on the right side.

4. Delete all other values except PartMgr.

5. Close Registry Editor.

6. Start FSX / Accel and you should get the registration wizard.

Flight Simulator X Gold Edition


I have it installed & is activated on line, but unable to use it. I can locate it in, Settings/System/Apps & Features. When I click on Modify (to try to activate it) I receive this error message:-
"Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists an is writable"
Can anyone explain &

help me with this?

I tried your suggestion in attempting to install Microsoft Flight Simulator X Gold Edition. Still unable to install, although this simulator worked fine under Windows 7.
