Windows 10: Unable to activate or uninstall/reinstall IE 11

Before anyone tells me I should be using Edge, it is not for my own use. Quickbooks Pro 2021 and previous versions require Internet Explorer to work. Don't ask me why, don't ask me to go back to them and ask. It just is. And I am not buying their monthly subscription service which comes out way more expensive than their perpetual license. I recently got a brand new Dell laptop which works magnificently well. I am very happy with it. It has Windows 10 Pro, version 20H2, installed on 8/8/21, OS build 19042.1165, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0.I tried going to the "Turn Windows

Reinstall IE 11 with Windows 10

Hi,

To address your concern, please follow the steps below on how to uninstall and reinstall Internet Explorer 11.

• Type Windows feature in the Search box. Click on Turn Windows feature on or off.
  
• Uncheck Internet Explorer. A window will pop up, click OK.
  
• Click the OK button. Click Restart when prompted.
  
• Repeat the steps to reinstall Internet Explorer (Check the box).

Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

Method 1:
I suggest you to disable window by hovering over it with the mouse and check if it helps. To do so I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps:

1. Press Windows key + X key and click on Control Panel.
2. Select or click Ease of Access.
3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
5. Check if issue is resolved.

Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

 

Impossible to reinstall Internet Explorer 11

Hello,

I know the very simple article you suggest.

However I already wrote that IE is no more listed in my accessories, programs, uninstall a program, etc.

I need an expert hint to force win 10 to accept reinstall a full version of IE 11 (it repeats that I already have Edge; but Edge is not IE)
