Windows 10: unable to activate the upgraded version of windows 10

    Recently I have upgraded my window 10 2004 but I'm unable to activate it as I do not have my product key, as per my search I have done my upgrade through online digital I don't have my product key with me. With out product key I can't activate the upgraded version. I need assistance in this matter and complete this process. Moreover, while I try to update the system it shows like " ERROR ENCOUNTERED AND There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: 0x800f020b".

    Unable to Activate Win 8

    I got Win 8 isntalled on my file server, but I am unable to activate it with the key. Says the key is invalid. Since I work at microsoft I got a retail version from the employee store. I have been doing some reading, and to be able to activate Win8 with the key there needs to be a previous version of Windows installed for it to work. WTF, so you can't do clean installs?

    And the box says nothing about Upgrade version. Straight Windows 8 Pro.

    If you upgraded to Windows 10 for free and ended up in a non-activated state, try following these steps:

    • Go to Start

      , then select Settings > Update & security > Activation.
    • Select Go to Store, and check to see if a valid license is available for your device. If a license isn't available, you'll need to buy Windows from the Store.

      Note
      • This only applies if you haven't made changes to the hardware for your device.

    or you could hack it with a crack but please note this is always risky and you don't know what's in the hack

    I won't buy a key, stupid.

    I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

    When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
    is that causing the problem?
