Windows 10: Unable to activate windows 10.

I was having windows 10 on my laptop and I was facing some issues, so I reinstalled my windows 10 using the media creation tool and now I'm unable to activate my windows even after signing in with my Microsoft account which was signed in previously. I have the product id but not the product key. I tried various methods, but my system is not even detecting the product key.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
