Windows 10: Unable to activate Windows 11 Home Edition

Hello,yesterday I used MS's installation tool to create a bootable USB drive, proceeded to Install Windows 11 Home Edition.In 2019 I purchased a Windows 10 Home Edition key from the MS Store.My understanding is that this key is connected to my MS account at all times when I'm logged in.This morning I contacted MS support via chat the option disappeared, there they informed me that indeed the update from 10 to 11 is free and it should work, in my previous situation wasn't working because I used the Windows update tool and it automatically installed the 11 Pro.I was surprised after reinstallin

1. How are you trying to activate Windows 10?
   
2. What is the complete error message that you receive?
   
3. Which edition of Windows is installed on the computer? i.e. Home/Pro

You might see this error if you entered a product key for the Enterprise edition of Windows to activate Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro. Try entering a product key that matches the edition of Windows on your device.

Follow these steps to change product key:

• 
  Select the Start button icon button, then select Settings > Update & security > Activation.
  
• 
  Select Change product key, and then type your 25-character product key.
  

Follow these steps to activate Windows over phone:

• 
  Type SLUI 04 in the search box on the taskbar, select SLUI 04.
  
• 
  Then follow the instructions on the screen to activate Windows.

Unable to Activate Win 8

I was about to suggest run CMD as Admin and then do a "slmgr -ipk xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx" activation...does anyone know if that works with win8?
