Windows 10: Unable to activate windows after motherboard change due a faulty mb

Hi,I initially purchased windows 7 for the first pc I bought in 2014, this was purchased through PC Specialist who built the pc. A couple weeks ago I built a new system and used the same product key and it worked fine, windows was activated Only the GPU from the old PC was reused, all other parts were new.However there was a fault with the mobo and the vendor replaced the mb. Now, with the new mobo, when I go in to activation, I see the message "Windows reported that the hardware of your device changed. Error code: 0xC004F211". And I have the "Activate windows" watermark on the desktop.Is th

Activate Windows 10 after motherboard change

Thanks for the reply.

I built the PC myself and it is\was a retail Windows 8 Pro license upgraded to 10.

The guide listed that I should be able to transfer the license, and following the steps given when selecting "I recently changed hardware" in the activation process it does not list my previous device to select from.

My Microsoft account is logged in on both my old and new motherboard, and my old motherboard is unable to boot at all to deactivate or retrieve any keys.

If my license is indeed available for transfer, how can I proceed from here?

Windows activation error after activation on faulty motherboard

I recently upgraded my PC's motherboard and in doing so was prompted to activate my copy of windows, which I did. One day after activating my windows copy on that motherboard, the motherboard hard crashed and was unrecoverable. I didn't want to be without
my PC for too long and the RMA process is going to take at least 2 weeks, so I took it upon myself to purchase the same motherboard to replace the old. I again am trying to activate my windows and am unable to, which leads me to believe that Microsoft is still
associating my license with the old dead motherboard.

Long story short, is there anyway to unassociated my license with the old board or am I stuck having to purchase a new copy of windows because of faulty hardware?
