    Unable to boot from USB on Surface Laptop Studio


    On my Surface Laptop Studio I am trying to boot from an external SSD that contains a FAT32 boot partition and a pre-configured Linux Mint partition. I tried it on another computer and it works flawlessly. However, I am unable to boot on my Surface Laptop Studio. I disabled Secure Boot and I disabled BitLocker. Now, when I go into the BIOS and attempt to boot from my USB input I can only see a red bar with a lock. I searched for this error and stumbled across the guide provided below. It suggests enabeling secure boot. But I dont want to enable secure boot. I need to disable secure boot so I ca

    Hello Jimmy, Unable to boot from USB on Surface Laptop Studio :)

    This doesn't list the "Surface Laptop", but you might give it a try to see.

    *Arrow Boot Microsoft Surface from a USB device

    Otherwise, you should be able to use OPTION ONE below to boot from the USB from advanced startup.

    Taskbar Not Loading and Unable to Access Settings on Windows Laptop Surface Studio

    I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with my Windows Laptop Surface Studio. Upon starting up my computer, the taskbar does not load, and I'm unable to access various functions, including the settings application.

    Here's what I've tried so far:

    • Restarting Windows Explorer.
    • Running the Troubleshooter for Windows Store Apps.
    • Re-registering the Taskbar using PowerShell.
    • Creating a new user profile.
    • Performing a System Restore.
    • Updating Windows.
    • Performing a Clean Boot.
    • Running SFC and DISM.
    • Resetting my PC.
    • Unfortunately, none of these solutions have worked, and I've been unable to get a hold of Windows customer support.
    I would greatly appreciate any assistance or suggestions from the community. Has anyone else encountered this issue, and if so, how did you resolve it?
