  1. Unable to Boot PC from USB and Can't Enable USB in BIOS Settings

Hello, thanks to the community here over the past few days, I've made it to the point of creating a bootable USB on my Mac.But, now my PC is not recognizing the USB drive, and I'm pretty sure my USB was formatted correctly. I think I just need help in the final stage and be able to activate my USB drive in the BIOS settings. Below are a few screenshots of my BIOS settings after restarting my PC with the USB inserted. Please let me know how to turn on my USB in my BIOS settings and what steps are necessary after that. Thanks! I really appreciate any help offered. :12345----

Booting from USB on x38 Motherboard, NOT?

See sys specs... ASUS ROG x38 motherboard, flashed to x48 Rampage.

In BIOS under "Boot Device Priority", I select and of the 3 boot device slots, and no where do I find an option for USB, these are the only options in each:

    • 1st floopy drive
    • HDD: P0-WDC WD2500KS
    • ATAPI CD-ROM
    • Disabled
Is there a place in the BIOS to enable boot from USB?

It's AMI, says v02.61 on the BIOS screen

    Boot linux on USB drive

it might just be that your bios doesn't support it, but it should anyway.

make sure you go into the bios and make sure "boot other device" is enabled and try seeing if the usb is listed as an hdd.. as bootable flash drives are usually picked up as usb hdd's and check if your bios detects the flash drive.

Unable to Boot PC from USB and Can't Enable USB in BIOS Settings

    USB boot for bios update

Did the first step. It already doesn't work. Note the capacities and drive letters M:/N: The HP utility is about to format my raid-1 volume containing my 2 750gb drives. It thinks it's the usb stick. I can not select any other drives in the HP utility. My 512mb usb stick is U:.

    Any other suggestions?
