Windows 10: Unable to boot Windows 10 - stuck before boot up

Problem: Bootup hangs at splash screens. HP Envy DesktopWindows 10 Home upgraded from the stock Win 8....think that's what it was Core i7-6700 from late 2016.16gb RamNVIDIA GeForce GTX750TiWhen I start my Windows 10 home edition desktop, the screen freezes on the MS Logo or the HP logo and the spinning circle of dots...begins and promptly stops.I have been able to get into the HP System Diagnostics and EVERYTHING PASSES -- Processor, Hard Drive, Memory, Video...be it in the quick or extensive tests. windows 10 slow boot

I was having a slow boot issue on my Windows 7 install a little while back. It would take about 30 - 40 extra seconds to boot up for whatever reason.

I would try following these steps, while this didn't solve my issue, it did increase Read/Write to where it should be.

In the end, I had to reinstall my Windows 7 entirely to fix the booting issue. It was taking around 35 seconds to boot, and after the fresh install it takes about 7 seconds to boot.

I suggest you check if you are able to boot into Windows Recovery Environment using installation media. Follow the steps provided below and check.

• • Insert the installation USB and boot Windows 10 from it.
  • In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.
  • Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.

Check if you are able to boot to this window. If you are unable to boot to this window, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer and check.

windows 10 boot problems

I had windows 10 installed on my old laptop, I also had a boot problem, but my HDD just stopped spinning and I was unable to load windows.
It still had the Asus factory recovery partition which I used to reinstall windows 7.
I found out that my HDD was fine in windows 7, nothing wrong with it, staying with windows 7 SP1 on this laptop and I stay with windows 8.1 on my main laptop.
No windows 10 for me!
