Windows 10: Unable to change account to sign in

Years ago I enrolled on Microsoft with a junk email account that was not used out of necessity to setup. Now I am actually using attempting Microsoft account Cloud and Drive capabilities under an active email account via gmail. This singular gmail account name has functioned perfectly - no problems. However I cannot change the sign in on the actual device settings - Settings>Accounts>Sign in.


Following the prompts to sign in on the webpage function properly and sign in to proper account are successful, however I still cannot change the automatic sign in to the old 'outlook.com' account that has been deleted on this device. The outlook account is deleted from Microsoft, but still forces sign in to this device Account settings. How can I force a new sign in to this device? It will not provide option to change account sign in, only to change the password to old deleted account - it is deleted, I don't want to make a new sign in to an account that isn't used.


*frustrated* I have played 'chase my tail' for 2 working days and really would love to see this device connect to my Microsoft account as it is meant to properly. At this point I have exhausted all sign in option to resolve this issue, and am certain it isn't a user malfunction. Is the Microsoft Settings able to be reset, or is it something I must force save manually to cloud/drive every time I edit a file?

1. Which accounts are you unable to sign in to?
2. What happens when you try to sign in to your account?
3. Are you seeing any error messages when you try to sign in to your PC?

If you are referring to the Microsoft account and if your Microsoft account has been compromised, it means that someone might be using your account to access your personal info or send spam. I suggest use the following guide to
get back into your account, review your personal info and settings, and help prevent this from happening again. Refer the article on

How to access a compromised Microsoft account and try to reset your password. If the issue still persists you can follow the remaining steps mentioned in the article and check if that helps.

Unable to login with microsoft account

the two-step verification is turned on or you are traveling or using a new device.

• Are you experiencing the sign in issue upon logging in to your computer?
• Are you having the same error when you are trying to sign in to your Microsoft account using a web browser? If yes, is the same issue happening even when you are using other web browsers?
• Have you made any changes to your account before this issue occurred?
• What changes have you made to your computer prior to having this issue?

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
