Windows 10: unable to change c:\program files subfolder icons

when i try to change program files subfolders icons like C:\Program Files\WinRAR etc., the icons do not change at all

all other icon in diffrent location like desktop or download folder changes without a problem

Looking to change the Icon of a folder in file explorer and then having that icon inherit to every subfolder. Is that possible?

We understand your concern as you are looking for an option to customize the subfolder icons same as the root folder icon.



We have reproduced the issue on our lab machines and as per design limitation, we don’t have an option, which will auto inherit the same icon to the sub folder from the root folder.



We can change the subfolder icon manually by going to the properties of the subfolder>select customize tab>change icons>select the same icon you have set for the root folder.



However, I commend and appreciate you for recognizing this behavior. This is a valuable suggestion as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I suggest you to leave a

Feedback for this product so that our developer team can look into this and check if it can be implemented in the future updates
