Windows 10: Unable to change domain password

Hi,I have an industrial PC that was initially setup by a coworker. Whenever we start the windows we get the following message:"Your password has expired and must be changed " And after that point no matter I try I receive the following error:"Configuration information could not be read from the domain controller, either because the machine is unavailable, or because access is denied."There are bunch of software installed to this computer and I would like to avoid going back to factory settings if I can. I tried safe mode and no success.Any suggestions would be highly apprec

UnattendedJoin error: failed to find the domain data (0x6e)

Thanks for the suggestion! I don't want to add a domain account, as this is a generic unattended install that will be used for all company machines. Do you think it's possible that the computer would join the domain if, instead of using UnattendedJoin in specialize, I used your steps but left out the specific account?

The other thing I was thinking was to use a generic account to allow the domain join during the specialize step. I added a machine password in the UnattendedJoin component, and instead of getting the error listed above, I got an authentication error, which makes me think I could probably do a secure join instead of the unsecure join.

Thoughts?

Hi Andreas,

To isolate your concern, please answer these questions:

• Are you using a Microsoft account when you log in to your computer?
• Is it the same as the account that's in the Mail app?

Depending on your domain, you may need to look into the configuration of the Outlook so it will not ask you to provide your password every time you use it.

We also suggest that you change the password stored in your Outlook each time your domain password is changed.

Kid locked out of Family account. Unable to change password

We understand the concern as you are unable to change your child’s Microsoft Account password. In this scenario, we would suggest you to perform these steps.

1. Login to
   www.login.live.com using your child’s Microsoft Account.
2. Click on forgot password.
3. Check the radio button and enter the Email account to send the code.
4. In case you don’t have access to that verification email account then click on
   I don’t have any of these.
5. Now follow the onscreen steps and check if you are able to reset the password.

Let us know the results. If the issue persists, we will certainly assist you further.
