Windows 10: Unable to change location of folders in properties on Windows 11

I have changed the location for documents to my one drive C:\Users\camer\OneDrive\Documents but when I open the folder through file explorer or the start button, it still goes to the old location C:\This PC\Documents. When I check the properties, the location says one drive but that is not where the folder opens from? Anyone have a solution? It is the same issue for all the folders, ie desktop, pictures, videos etc.I had no problems in Windows 10 and they opened off my one drive but since I upgraded to Win 11, they don't seem to want to

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

any more suggestions

 

Downloads folder is the Documents folder

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

Messed Up Changing the Location of the Downloads Folder in Windows 10

Hi - there were no files in the Documents folder. I found this thread Unable to change location of pictures and documents folders which suggested that the problem is related to the OneDrive folders. I uninstalled OneDrive, but now I have a new error message which says C:\Users\andree\OneDrive\Documents is unavailable. I also seen another folder C:\Users\andre which is the one I assume I should move, but there is no Location tab in the Documents properties screen.
