Windows 10: Unable to change microphone quality

can anyone please tell me why I can't change my microphone quality?

I was able to a few days ago but no longer. I can change it on my headset microphone but not this standalone microphone I am currently using (USB PnP audio device)

Cant change microphone quality

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I'd suggest you to follow the below steps and check if you're able to change the microphone quality.

1. Click on Start icon.

2. Type Manage audio devices and press Enter.

3. Click on Recording tab.

4. Right click on the Microphone and select Properties.

5. Click on Advanced tab.

6. Set the sample rate to CD Quality or DVD Quality.

7. Click on Apply and OK.

Restart the system and check. Update us on the result.

Unable to use Microphone on the computer

However, please let us know:

• Were you able to use Microphone on your computer earlier?
  
• What is the make and model of the Microphone that you are using?
  

Ideally, if we add a new Microphone to the computer, we will need to go through the setup process to use it, let me help you with the steps. I would suggest you to refer the article on
How to set up and test microphones in Windows 10 and setup
the Microphone. Once the Microphone is setup, you can start using it.



If you still face issues, I would suggest you to refer the article on
Fix microphone problems and see if that helps.

Cant change microphone quality

I cannot change the microphone quality beyond 8000 hrtz. I have tried everything from uninstalling to drivers to manufacturer software. When I select a higher quality a window pops up saying the device is in use by another application and may end current
applications. Would I like to change anyway? Yes.. but then the window just closes and reverts back to the lowest quality. Before the last update it worked fine. I am using all current drivers and software. Microphone is a Steel Series Acrtis pro wireless
so it has a game DAC and connects via USB. I really need this to work.
