Windows 10: Unable to change screen brightness on my HP Victus 15

Hello. I have owned a new HP Victus 15 since August 2023, and in the past 3 or so weeks I have noticed I am unable to change the brightness of my screen. The screen brightness has been stuck on maximum, and does not respond to the F2 or F3 keys. The brightness slider is accessible to me and I am able to slide it up and down, but it doesn't actually do anything to the brightness. I have repeatedly updated both my AMD and NVIDIA drivers, as well as installed their respective apps AMD Adrenaline and NVIDIA App and they have confirmed my drivers are up to date. I also have no drivers available f

Brightness will not change on my HP Victus Laptop (Windows 11).

Hello, no matter what I seem to do I can't get my brightness to change on my system, be it through the function keys, the brightness slider in the mini-display when you click on the bottom right, or through the settings. I have a Victus HP Gaming Laptop 15 with an AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050. I last used the laptop a few days ago and when I started the laptop today I first noticed the issue when I tried changing the brightness after start-up. I tried updating the drivers on it and that did not seem to fix the issue. I have also disabled and re-enabled the Display adaptors and Monitor through the Device Manager but that also did not work. I have restarted the laptop and that did not work, I even updated the laptop with the new windows update that appeared but that also did not work.

 

Unable to Change Screen Brightness of Laptop


So I'm not sure how long this has been happening but for some reason, I can't change the brightness on my laptop screen. I have linked a picture and as you can see, my brightness says 0% and that I can't change it, however my actual brightness is at 100%. I have looked around everywhere and the only responses I have found don't work for me. Here's a list of everything I have tried:
- Reinstalling Display Drivers
- Rolling Back Display Drivers
- Reset Settings on UWT4
- Power and Battery Settings
(UWT4 or Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 is a customizer for Windows 10 and I thought that might be the problem but it wasn't)

Unable to change screen brightness

I am completely unable to change my screen brightness, either through settings or the control panel. I have tried everything the internet suggested, including community solutions, but none of them work. it began after the most recent windows update, where
the change brightness button disappeared from the battery section on the taskbar. I could change the brightness through settings for a bit, but that eventually stopped working too. although my computer says its changing the brightness of the screen, nothing
actually happens.

Please help me fix this! the brightness hurts my eyes and makes it hard to read text.
