Unable to change Start Menu settings after rolling back from 10547

I tried out the Insider Preview 10547 build last night, but chose to roll back to the full Windows 10 Pro build due to not being able to fully apply custom themes and the context menu not coming up on the desktop. Anyway, the rollback went fine, but now for some reason I can't make adjustment to the Start Menu. When my desktop had finished rolling back to the previous build, most of my live tiles had disappeared, specifically the Settings, CMD, and a few other apps I had pinned to the menu. The only tiles that were still showing were the games I'd pinned before applying the 10547. I can't even bring up the Weather, Store, or many other apps by searching for them. The apps still show in Apps and Features under System in Settings, which means the apps are still installed, I just can't seem to access them, although I haven't tried to get to them through a file explorer yet. Also, under Choose which folders appear on Start, every setting is grayed out. I actually rolled back from a previous test build before and everything came up normally, so I'm not sure what happened this time. I apologize for the rather lengthy post, but I just wanted to be thorough. Thanks in advance.

    :)

Fall Creators Update on Surface Book kills Task Bar

An admirable suggestion, however I am unable to get either Start Menu or settings to work. Maybe there is an alternative way to get to the roll back function.

    Thanks.

  3. Windows 10 Upgrade Issues

Upgraded to Win10 from 8.1 on Lenova G500 which all seemed to go ok initially. Very quickly Edge stopped working from the taskbar and then the icon disappeared. After the machine restarted and updated I have now lost the start menu, can right click and
access most functions. Tried to Reset which it is unable to do, tried to revert back to 8.1 which it tells me I have added a new user, which I have not, and to delete it which I am unable to. Consequently no changes were made when I attempted to roll back.
Wanted to add a new user to see if I could access the start menu but unable to add a new user? Tried restoring start menu through Powershell with no luck. Have tried a number of suggestions from the forum with no change so running out of ideas, want to
keep my documents ideally. Any further ideas would really help!

Not yet, but I'm in the habit of checking for updates every night, anyway. The last time I rolled back from an update, I selected the option to not receive preview updates for five days, and that was about three days ago, I think. I know it's not the Windows 10 itself, but something funky did happen when I rolled back from that preview build. I also up dated my laptop to the full version, but it updated itself to Windows 10 Home instead of the Pro that's on my desktop. I think this is because the laptop did the update from the preview version instead of a completed wipe and reinstall of Windows 8 to 10, like I did on my desktop. Anyway, the next preview build update prompt I get, I'll either created a restore point before clicking Restart, or just apply the thing.
