Windows 10: Unable to checkout for gift card

I've been struggling to buy a digital Microsoft gift card for a bit now, and not a single thing I have found online has helped. Whenever I lick checkout WHEN LOGGED IN OR OTHERWISE it asks me to enter my password It reloads into Login.live and asks me to input my password.When I enter my password and click sign-in, it reloads back into the same page again, asking for my password again.Over and over and over.I can't figure this out; clearing my cache does nothing, I can't find anything in settings, messing with my control panel windows credential manager or whatever it's called does nothing

Using a Microsoft gift card for purchases

I do get a method of payment option, but it does not list my Microsoft account. There is also a place for debit/credit/gift card payments, but my gift card number does not match the spaces needed.

Any other suggestions?

 

Can't spend gift card balance

I recently bought $40 worth of gift cards which I got to purchase ibis paint. When I go to checkout, it doesn't let me select the balance. I can only enter a credit card or PayPal account. I already redeemed the gift card in the store so I can't redeem that at checkout. If I had known I couldn't use the credit in my account I would have waited to redeem. Is there a way to fix this problem? I don't want to use my credit card or buy more gift cards since the other $40 would just stay in my account since I don't want to purchase anything else.
