Windows 10: Unable to click Quick Settings and Windows Update button becomes weird and unclickable.

Searches / Results from the windows 10 start button "unclickable"

Ok this is a tricky one, and i have been unable to correctly phrase to get sense from google/bing.......

• I click the windows start button and start typing "update" the top item found is "check for updates" (system settings "cog icon")
  BUT i cant click it or press enter or anything....

OR

• I click the windows start button and start typing "mouse" the top item found is "change your mouse settings" (system settings "cog icon") BUT i cant click it or press enter or anything....

I could go on BUT in short ANYTHING that is found from a search from the start button that is in the (system settings "cog icon") is "unclickable"

Help............................

P.S. i should also point another but less frequent issue is that doing bullet 1 sometimes doesnt return much at all other than third party stuff thats installed (e.g. dell update manager) i need to probably write a new question on this... just posted here

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

 

Why the ''Start, taskbar...'s'' button is unclickable (TASKBAR COLOR)

Good morning,

I have been looking online to find the way to personalize my Surface 3 (colors, background, etc.).

The only problem is when I get to to change the color of my taskbar. The lists of steps that I need to follow bring me to Settings - Personalization - Colors and finally to ''Show accent color on the following surface'' where normally I would need to click
on ''Start, taskbar, action center'', but turn out the button does'nt work...

Why the Start, taskbar...'s button is grey and unclickable ?
