Windows 10: Unable to connect 2nd monitor to my PC

    Unable to connect 2nd monitor to my PC


    So today i tried to connect my borther's old monitor to my setup and after 2 hours of switching cables between dvi, hdmi only one of the monitors work at the time. The monitor im trying to connect is Benq g2411hd and my main monitor is samsung SyncMaster P2770.

    Operating System

    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

    CPU

    AMD Ryzen 5

    14nm Technology

    RAM

    16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1064MHz (15-15-15-36)

    Motherboard

    ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. TUF B450-PLUS GAMING (AM4)

    Graphics

    BenQ G2411HD (1920x1080@60Hz)

    3071MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (ASUStek Computer Inc)

    Storage

    465GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB (SSD)

    1863GB Western Digital WDC WD20EARS-00MVWB0 (SATA)


    The another monitor only says "No signal" or "Check signal cable". I have tried diffrent cables but they don't seem to work either. I think the problem is in my PC.

    Hi Ron,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    • What changes did you make in the BIOS? As making the changes in the BIOS is only recommended by Microsoft if done by the manufacturer.
    • How are you connecting to the 2nd monitor?

    2nd Monitor.

    I recently bought a 2nd monitor and I connected it to my PC but there is a problem. The problem is that windows 10 has detected it and I have extended my display but my 2nd monitor wont display anything it just stays black. Can someone help me please.

    Things to do once connected new G-Sync monitor

    I'm getting my G-Sync monitor today.

    I think I have to take the following steps:

    • Connect 1440p G-sync monitor with DP cable
    • Connect second 1080p 60Hz monitor by HDMI
    • Startup PC
    • Reinstall display driver
    • Restart PC (I always do that after display driver install)
    • Activate G-Sync in NV control panel (I believe also V-Sync is auto on after that?)
    • Set my 1440p monitor from 1080p to 1440p
    • Calibrate my 1440p monitor
    Also ingame, I should turn off V-Sync?
    Are there any problems running a second 60Hz 1080p monitor?

    Is there anything else I should do/know?
