    Unable to connect 802.11b supported device to windows 10 hotpsot


    I tried connecting an 802.11b supported device to windows 10 hotspot, and found that it is not getting connected, where as I can connect phone or another laptop to the same.

    From the probe requests in sniffer capture, could see the packets from windows doesn't support basic data rates(1,2,5.5,11 Mbps) supported by 802.11b devices.
    what may be the reason that my device(which supports only 802.11b) is not getting connected to windows hot spot. Could anyone help me on this.

    Asus Z170 Pro Gaming new build [advice please]

    I have changed the port on the router and have upgraded to the latest firmware of the powerline adapters.
    Windows can't find a newer driver for my intel lan.
