Windows 10: Unable to connect to any of my industrial usb3 cameras in winui3 C#

We are porting our UI from Win Forms/WPF to WinUI3 C#. My classes to connect and control industrial cameras like Basler and IDS usb3 versions work as expected in WPF. But I am unable to connect to them when using WinUI3. All of the problems the errors aren't the same seem related to threading. I converted my camera class to .Net Standard 2.0. That made no change works on WPF fails on WinUI3. This is errors from my Immediate Window: Exception thrown: 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException' in Basler.Pylon.dllException thrown: 'System.Runtime.Interop

camera not working

If you have the camera connected to the computer, I would suggest that you disconnect the camera and then try to open the Camera app.



If the camera app opens, follow the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + C” from your keyboard to open “Charms bar”.
• Select “Settings” option.
• Select “Permissions” option.
• Turn on “Allow this app to access your: Webcam and Microphone” option.
• Lose the app by pressing “Alt key + F4” from your keyboard.
• Reopen the Camera app.
• Connect your camera and then check how this app works.

unable to connect Cameras

To assist you better with your concern, please answer the following:

• Have you tried connecting other USB devices on your computer? How was it?
  
• Since you already downloaded the drivers from your device manufacturer's website, have you checked if the version of the driver that you've downloaded is compatible with your device?

We suggest that you run the the troubleshooter for Hardware and Devices, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X > Control Panel > Select
  Small icons on the View by: drop-down menu.
• Go to Troubleshooting > Hardware and Sound >
  Hardware and Devices.

Let us know what happens after following the suggested troubleshooting steps.

I would suggest you to follow the steps below:

Step 1:Update the driver

After the install to Windows 10, the drivers for the camera may have not been Installed. I would suggest that you install the drivers for the camera and check.

a. Move the mouse to bottom left corner and right-click on the
“Start” icon.

b. Select ‘Device manager’.

c. Expand ‘Camera”, right-click on the adapter and select update ‘update driver software’

step 2: Run the hardware troubleshooter.

To do so, open Control Panel
> troubleshooting> Hardware and Sound >
Hardware and Devices.

follow the instructions.
