  1. Unable to copy and paste folders and files on network

We have 5 PC computers all with Windows 10/11 all linked through wire connections in our office. All PC's can view and edit folders and files that are saved on my PC Windows 11. A fellow coworker's PC Windows 11 can copy/paste files and folders that are located on her computer, but she cannot copy/paste files and folders that are located on my PC. This problem didn't start to happen until a few days ago.Not sure if this is a cause for the problem, but just so you are aware, I think it was due to a Windows update about a month ago, OneDrive was added not by me and converted the locat

    Java.nio.file - Copying files

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one

Unable to copy and paste folders and files on network

Unable to PASTE files, folders to any pc in the network using Explorer

I was unsure where to post this but since the network issue is predominant, I chose to post here. Apologies for the long post, I was trying to be informative as possible.

I recently acquired an additional computer to use at home. It is replacing an older pc (1st gen i7) that has given me yeoman service and although a bit long in the tooth, it still works well. The new pc is not brand new by any means, but it is new to me with a XEON processor and a more up to date motherboard and much more memory. I am using the XEON machine to process large movie files for my media library. When I am satisfied with the state of the file, it is transferred to the pc in my basement that is working as a "server" - basically another pc running windows 10 as well.

I have two other pcs in the house (a total of 4 pcs) all on the network. All the pcs are running Windows 10 Pro Version 1909 Build 18363.1556. All the pc's see each other on the network. Everything worked well until I tried to add the XEON pc to the herd.

When I loaded Windows 10 to the new NVME SSD hard drive on the XEON, I used an image of the 'C' drive from the i7 pc it replaced and started it up. All ran well it seemed and so I then added it to my network.

The XEON machine was recognized by all the others in the network. Or so it seemed...

There are two issues I need assistance with. One is device related and the other is network related.

    1) There are two NVME SSDs in XEON pc. The second NVME SSD is showing in the taskbar on the lower right of the screen as a removable drive - just as a usb external drive would show. Additionally, the Realtek PCIe GBe Family Controller also shows as a removeable device in the task bar. Both devices show in Device Manager as they normally would. Is there any way of setting these two devices up without them showing as removable devices?

    2) After I added the XEON pc to the network, I noticed that something in my network had changed. I am unable to copy and paste to any other pc on the network using copy and paste, cut and paste or drag and drop methods TO the any of the network pc's listed on the left side of the screen (sorry, I don't know what this area of the Windows Explorer desktop is called). This is a change. Prior to adding the XEON pc, I was able to copy and paste, cut and paste or simply drag and drop files from any pc on the network to any other pc on the network at will.

Interestingly, all the "server" drives are mapped to the desktop of the XEON machine and I am able to read, write, copy, cut, paste to any of the "server" drives and folders using the mapped drive shortcuts.

However, when I attempt to transfer files using copy and paste, cut and paste, or drag and drop functions, using the procedure below, I am unable to do so as Windows does not present a funcion to do so.

These are the steps I am using to transfer the files using the drive listings on the right side of the screen...

    1) Place the cursor on the folder to be transferred on the XEON pc.
    2) Right click on the mouse and select COPY. (the file is now in the clipboard memory)
    3) Move the cursor over to the left side of the screen to the "server" pc.
    4) Left click the mouse button to display the drives on the "server" pc.
    5) Move the cursor over the selected drive I wish to transfer the folder to.
    6) Right click on the mouse to obtain the menu to select the PASTE funcion.

There is no PASTE funcion displayed in the drop down menu of actions. I am only presented with the COPY action.

At first, I thought it might be a glitch that only applies to the XEON pc. However, on checking the other pc's on the network, the PASTE function for the same activity is not present either.

When working within the drives on any particular machine itself, I am presented with the full slate of actions in Windows Explorer. I am able to cut, copy, paste, drag and drop at will while on any individual pc, however if I wish to perform those same activities on the nework to any other pc, I cannot because windows explorer will not give me the choice in the drop down menu.

Thinking that these two issues might be related to the fact that I am using windows version 1909 on all my pcs, that upgrading to the most current version - 21H2 would be a good move. My thinking was, if upgrading to a newer version solve the issue of the NVME drive and the LAN chip showing as removeable drives and the Windows Explorer problem, I would upgrade all the pcs so all would be on the same version.

NO LUCK!!!! I spent all day (12 hours) trying to get v 21H2 loaded on the XEON pc and for it to be recognized on the network. I attempted an im place upgrade in order to save all the programs, folders and files. It seemed to work, but the two issues still existed. I tried a clean install. Again, windows installed ok, but the removeable device issue remained and the XEON pc woul not connect to the network. Would not see or be seen by other pcs on the network. Yet all other pcs could see each other. This is where I discovered that I could not cut and paste or copy and paste to any other PC on the network.

I finally ended up restoring the initial Windows 10 version 1909 image to the NVME drive and arrived right back where I started. (Thank you Macrium Reflect!).

Can anyone share a solution to these odd ball problems?

Thanks in advance to any suggested solutions.
