Windows 10: Unable to copy Files from external hard drive to c drive.

Hello,Im in the process of trying to sell my desktop unit but I need to get the computer info a fit enough state for anyone to take it. The main drawback I have is that for some reason I am unable to copy files from my external hard drive to the c drive. For some files it works and for others It doesn't . Technical support advised it is due to the security settings meaning i have to copy files to the desktop and then to the c drive. Which seems ridiculous.Windows updates are not up to date and I am in the process of downloading them. Once it is up to date and the problem persists, what can any

Copy of external hard drive and all its folders in the C drive.

You can simply delete those duplicated files in your C drive. Just make sure to check if those files are backed up in your external hard drive.

We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.
