Windows 10: Unable to create a group policy in windows server 2012

I am unable to create a group policy in windows server 2012 R2. I keep getting the below error.

Group Policy (Windows Server 2012) not applying to window 10 Pro 1607

Hi,

I have a situation in my environment where my end user machine with window 10 Pro version 1607 is not syncing with my Group Policy.

My Group Policy management is in window server 2012 standard and it works for Window 10 Pro version 1511 and the latest version 1703.

Any idea what could be blocking the syncing. I have check the RSOP and gpresult both showing the correct policy was being applied.

For example: I defer the window update in the policy and it only works for version 1511 and 1703 but not 1607.

The adml and admx template I use is 1607 and it is a bit strange it is not working on the end user machine.

Please advice.

Meanwhile, run SFC scan on the PC by following the steps below and check for the presence of corrupted or missing system files and folders.



SFC scan is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If a
Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected. For example, some Windows functions may not work, or Windows may crash.



Step 1: Open an Administrator command prompt
window by

• Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
  Command Prompt (Admin) option.
• Click on Yes and continue. Provide administrator password if prompted.
• Check if it says Administrator: Command Prompt at the top of the command prompt window.

Step 2: Type sfc /scannow command in the
CMD Prompt.



Step 3: Close the command window and check if the issue is resolved.

GROUP POLICIES IN WINDOWS 10

You can change Group Policies by opening Group Policy Editor first. You can open it by following these steps:

• Log in an administrator account. If you are already logged in as an administrator, proceed to step 2.
  
• Press Windows + R to open Run.
• Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
  

After opening Group Policy Editor, you can now make the necessary changes that you want.
