Windows 10: Unable to delete a DIR with character "&" in the name in Windows 10

I have created by mistake a DIR in C:\> by the name of "Jazz & Musical - " without "" of course and with a space at the end of it; the DIR is empty.1 I cannot delete or rename that DIR with the usual Windows 10 commad "delete" and "rename"2 Then I tried in DOS with "CMD".3 I cannot delete it with this command line C:>del "Jazz & Musical - "The error says that "Musical" without "" is not recognized as an internal or external command, an EXE file or a batch file.4 If I use the command C:>del Jazz & Musical - with no "" and with the space at the end the error s

Invalid character in Winrar archive - unable to delete it

Hello *Smile I have problem deleting a file which i created with Winrar. I was trying to make an archive with the STALKER SOF patch and some of my save games to send them to a friend when i accidentally put a : (colon) character in the name of the zip archive. Now on the desktop i have file called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. which i am unable to delete because it says 'Could not find this item'. The filename i entered was 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl 1.0005' so i assume it thinks the file is located in 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:' drive which is non existing. Any way i can delete this file ?

 

Unable to delete a folder - Invalid folder name


Suggestion:

1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
   x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
   NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.

Thats what I get when I try to make the same name as your file.

Then I get an error saying its not found and i cant delete it either. Hmmm...
