    Unable to delete folders, driving me nuts! How can I delete these folders???


    The only user on my Windows 10 system is me. But I have a couple of former users' folders (e.g. Joe) still as remnants in C:\Users I am unable to delete those phantom users' folders, e.g.

    C:\Users\Joe

    I have tried using the Powershell as an administrator but I still can not delete those folders. Isn't he whole purpose of the powersheel as admin to be able to control my pc?

    rm -Force -Recurse -Confirm:$false $c:\Users\Joe

    The above command still tells me I do not have permission to delete that folder.

    Trouble deleting a folder

    Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

    Trouble deleting a folder

    Maybe if you have a spare drive, you can install a temporary winXP or win2000 and delete the offending folder from there?

    Killbox beta worked great. I set it to delete on reboot. I was then able to Manually delete the folder.
