Windows 10: Unable to delete temp files with the folder name as ECSCache

Discus and support Unable to delete temp files with the folder name as ECSCache in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I searched the temp files using the command, "%temp%" command and found some file folder with the name "ECSCache".     Unable to delete temp files with the folder name as ECSCache


    I searched the temp files using the command, "%temp%" command and found some file folder with the name "ECSCache". I tried deleting this folder but failed. Hope Windows will fix this problem soon through windows next patch update. Unable to clean all temp files!!!

    • What happens, when you try to delete temp files?
    I suggest you to follow these methods below and check, if it works:

    Method 1:

    • Press Windows key + R key together, to open RUN command Window.
    • Type "temp" in the RUN Command Window, to open temp folder and then delete the files and folders inside the temp folder.
    If the issue persists, follow method 2.

    Method 2:

    • Press Windows key + R key together, to open RUN command Window.
    • Type "%temp%" in the RUN Command Window, to open temp folder and then delete the files and folders inside the temp folder.
    If the issue persists, follow method 3.

    Method 3:

    I suggest you to boot the computer to Safe Mode, then perform disk cleanup on Windows 10 and check, if it works.

    Unable to delete a folder - Invalid folder name


    Suggestion:
    1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
      x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
    2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
    3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
    4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
      NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.
