    Unable to detect a windows system drive


    Hi,I'm trying to run a system check by Windows Defender Remote.When I access the DVD with the application' I get the following message:"Unable to detect a windows system drive"My Lenovo V520 runs a win11 system.So, how come? Why can't the remote defender detect my windows system drive?

    Original Title: Off Line Windows Defender

    This morning I downloaded Off Line Windows Defender and installed it on a USB 3 flash drive.

    When I restarted the PC selected "escape", selected USB Drive, and it started normally, then got message

    Unable to detect Windows System Drive

    Error Code: 0x8004cc01

    I then restarted the PC in a normal manner and here I am - working

    I have been using Offline Windows Defender for some time -

    Any ideas?

    Windows 10, DVD drive and USB hard drive failing to work

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community, we appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

    As you are unable to detect the DVD/ CD drives after an Windows update, please be informed us the latest update being installed.

    I suggest you to uninstall the latest update and check if you are able to detect the drives.

    Steps:

    • Right click on the Start button from the desktop and select
      Programs and Features      .
    • Locate the update, right click on it and select Uninstall.
    • Restart the device and check.
