Windows 10: Unable to disable BitLocker

Hi.

I just accidentally bricked my computer with BitLocker after changing some boot settings. I have no idea what the 48 digit passcode is as I did not set it, and I don’t have a microsoft account on the computer that I can recover the code from. Is there ANY way at all that I can decrypt my drive and resume using it? It is very urgent as I need to use this PC for work.

To disable BitLocker I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps.

1. Press Windows key + X and click on
Control Panel.

2. Change View by from Category
to Large Icons/Small Icons.

3. Click on BitLocker Drive Encryption and click on
Turn BitLocker Off.

4. Follow on screen instructions. Click on
Decrypt the Drive when the message appears.

Change in folder size after enabling Bitlocker

We understand you concern related to the size of the folder displayed. Try these steps to narrow down the issue:

1. Disable bitlocker
   and then check the folder size.
2. We would also suggest you to open the folder and select all files and see the size of the contents.

Let us know if the size of the contents matches the folder size. If you see a difference, then the folder might be showing incorrect size.
