Windows 10: Unable to disable News from the Widgets panel in Windows 11

There is apparently no option to disable the news section from the widgets panel. The content displayed in the news section is not properly moderated and interest selection does nothing to improve the relevance of the content. As widgets can be easily added or removed, I see no effort from a coding perspective to add a switch to disable this content. Please, provide an option to disable news, entertainment and games content from this panel as this feature is of no use neither for professional nor educational environments.

It is not recommended to hack the registry or block TPC/IP ports, as this could cause unintended consequences and potentially harm your system.

 

Disabling News in Windows 11 Widgets

Windows 11 has widgets instead of News and Interests, which is now deprecated with Windows 11.

You cannot disable news from widget yet, although you are always welcomed to file feedback for a feature request.
