Unable to discover Malware on NTFS HDD

I have a malware infected Windows XP machine - I know this because I tried copying files from the XP to Win10 and the anti malware on WIn10 notified me of a malware on the USB. I removed the hard disk drive of the XP , then scanned it as a USB on the Win10 but the anti virus could not detect the malware found on the USB. I was able to locate the suspicious executables in C:\Windows and another location on the XP. I tried using ClanWin to scan the C drive but no success, but when I scanned the USB, ClanWin detected the malicious file again. Could this be that because the hard drive is NTFS and

    :)

GTX 1070 Firmware Overwritten by Malware - Unable to Reset

Haaa well, we all got into the hype train but with a step back, it wasn't as crazy as we all thought (well, for me *Stick Out Tongue Unable to discover Malware on NTFS HDD :p). I've been carried by the panic factor.

    Still very interesting.

Haha I heard that so often; "Antivirus comapnies are the one doing the malwares". Imagine if someone discover that a malware comes from an antivirus maker, they would be closed at the instant!

    Hi Johan,

    It is possible that your
    HDD was unreadable
causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:

    • Shutdown
      your
      PC.

    • Unhooked
      the
      HDD
      and
      turn on
      your
      PC.

    • Reconnect
      your
      HDD
      and
      restart
      your
      PC.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    laptop/computer's manufacturer
    for further assistance.

Update us on how it goes.

    Regards.
