Windows 10: Unable to do anything on Paint 3D Black Screen on Working Area

Since I bought a new laptop, I am unable to do anything on Paint 3D. It just shows black screen at the working area. Even if I try of open an image, it shows the same black screen. All the tools and menus are shown but unable to do anything with them on working area. There is same problem with 3D Viewer. Rest apps including 'classic' Paint is working fine. I have tried to Reset and Reinstall the app but no luck.

Can anyone tell how to fix it.

Paint 3D Black Screen

Hi, I'm trying to run Paint 3D and then my entire screen goes black then comes back on, Paint 3D says it needs to close. Sometimes even just having it open without using it, it'll black screen. I did try to Reset via settings but it didn't work. Any ideas
why or ways to fix? Thanks.

 

Paint 3D stuck at black screen

your current Windows version and edition? Press Start then search settings, select System then About.

Please try the suggested methods below.

**Make sure you have the latest version of Paint 3D

Open Microsoft Store then Click 3 dots

Select Download and Updates >

Update Paint 3D or click Get Updates

**Run the troubleshooter:

Select the Start button, and then select Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows Store apps > Run the troubleshooter.

**Reset the Paint 3D app in Windows 10

Open Settings.

Go to Apps -> Apps & features.

On the right side, look for Paint 3D and click it.

The advanced options link will appear. Click it.

On the next page, click on the Reset button to reset Paint3D to default settings

Reinstall the Paint 3D app:

Press Windows key + X

Click and Run Windows PowerShell as Administrator

At the command prompt, copy-paste the following then hit Enter:

get-appxpackage *MSPaint* | remove-appxpackage

After that, copy paste the command below then press enter.

Get-AppXPackage *MSPaint* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Restart your PC

Paint 3D

Hi Joe,

We need to do further investigation so that we can identify the cause of the issue. Is it your whole screen that goes black/blank or just the window of Paint 3D? We also suggest that you reset Paint 3D's data and see if it helps. You can do this by going
to Settings > Apps & features > Look for
Paint 3D, click on Advanced options and click Reset.
