Windows 10: Unable to do anything with an unallocated space on hard disk.

I have 139.63 GB of unallocated space on my disk that I am not able to create a new volume or even convert it from dynamic to basic. When I try to create a new simple volume an error message is shown that there is not enough space available on the disk. The same error happens if try to merge this unallocated space with another volume. This unallocated space was previously where I had installed the OS but later reinstalled into a SSD. I had deleted the 'C' disk for this process which became the unallocated space.

Unable to Use Unallocated Space to Extend Partition

Okay...thanks. Will look at it tomorrow. FYI, I figured out how to get that unformatted G partition back into D.

In Disk Management, I right clicked G and selected "Delete Volume." That rendered the partition as unallocated. I was then able to extend D with that space.

Unallocated Space to C Drive

Hi Travis,

It appears that a disk partition was created but was never assigned its allocation. Assuming there are no files stored in the unallocated partition, perform these steps to combine it with your C: drive:

• In Disk Management, right-click on (C which appears next to the
  Unallocated partition.
  
• Select Extend.

Let us know if you're able to combine the spaces after following the steps above.
