Windows 10: unable to download,install and run program .

I have old laptop window 7 ,i want to download some program such as antivirus or other but i am unable to do this because my window not allow to it . i want to upgrade from window 7 to window 10 but it not allow my laptop.

Unable to run programs in Windows 10

To assist you better, I would like to know what exactly happens when you try to run the programs. Did you get any error message? Which was the previous Operating System installed on the computer?

I suggest you to run the program in Compatibility mode and check if it helps, please follow the below steps:

1) Right click on the Program

2) Click on Properties

3) Click on Compatibility tab

4) Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly (Windows 8 or 7) from the drop down list.

Unable to install programs

Just to clarify, is the issue specific to a particular program?

In order to identify if this a compatibility related issue, I suggest you to try installing the program in compatibility mode by following the steps below and check if it helps.

1. Right-click on the setup file of the program and select "Properties".

2. Select "Compatibility" Tab.

3. Place a check mark next to "Run this program in Compatibility mode" and select Windows 8
from the drop down list.

4. Let the program install and then check the functionality.

Windows 10 is able to download programs but cannot install (Turn off security).

  Did you make any changes prior to the issue?

As an initial step of troubleshooting, I suggest you to login using the administrator account and try installing the programs.



If the issue persists, try the steps below.
