  1. Unable to edit images with Paint 3D

Until a month or so ago I was able to edit images, mostly PNG, by simply right clicking the image, choosing 'edit with Paint 3d' and it would open up and I would be able to do what I wanted. Now the only result is a message telling me I need to go to the Microsoft Store to get the proper app.Have attempted:the various repair/refresh/restore options as suggested by the help page via an article link provided by the IT department at work.uninstalling the onboard Paint 3D and replaced it with the version on the Microsoft Store. Neither of these had any effect.A couple of days ago went to the Mic

  2. Cannot edit images when saved in Fresh paint

    Hi Kamila,

As per the information, I understand that when you save an image drawn in Fresh Paint, you are unable to edit the image once saved.

If the above is true, I suggest that you follow the steps below to save the image in a manner that will allow you to edit it.

    • To save your painting right click on fresh paint and click on
      Save as
. You will get an option to select the location.
    • Select the location and save the painting.
    • When you reopen fresh paint you will be on the painting you used before closing fresh paint. If you do not get the painting, you may click on image and go to the location and select the image to edit.

For added information on Fresh Paint refer to the FAQ below

    Redirecting

    Note: Also applies to 10

    Hope this helps

    Regards

Unable to edit images with Paint 3D

    MS Paint and Paint 3D.

Still using WIN 10 (my PC won't run 11). I still make use of both MS Paint and Paint 3D. Since the recent Windows update KB5039211 the button in Paint "edit with Paint 3D" no longer works. Instead I get a message "You'll need a new app to open this ms-paint link. Look for an app in the Microsoft Store". Clicking "OK" takes me to the MS Store indicating Paint 3D is installed. I can then open it and select the Paint image I want. Which means 8 mouse clicks instead of one. The other annoyance is that, right clicking on an image and selecting "open with" brings up a list of all my image editing apps. Except Paint 3D. I did think about uninstalling the update but I am wary of doing that as it includes a security update. So another solution please.
