Windows 10: Unable to edit Windows 10 permissions

Since a recent Windows 10 update, I am unable to edit my music library that I have been actively working on daily for years. I receive the follwoing message when I close the app "Unable to save the Library database: Access is denied. [C\Users\***\MusicBee\MusicBeeLibrary.mbl"


The "***" I placed the above path is my username.


Whenever I attempt to edit the permissions in ANY folder, everything is grayed out not allowing any edits whatsoever. Please help!

Windows 10 permissions...

How is the NAS on windows 10 Pro? Is it software or a share? Did you check ntfs vs share permissions?

Ok so I feel officially dumb I am trying to copy my steam library to my NAS. Both are on windows 10 pro and both have full control in the file manager. Neither windows nor fast copy will allow me to copy, both list a permissions error? This was never an issue with windows 7...so first off thank you microsoft god forbid I want to back up my data, second off what the heck do I need to do to make this work. All I could fine online was to set full control and that obviously didn't help.

Also robocopy doesn't apparently work with network locations?

Issues that you experience when you try to access files and folders may be related to permissions. Permissions are rules that determine whether you can access or change files and folders. To check permissions on a file or a folder, follow these steps:

• Press and hold or right-click the file or folder, and then click Properties.
• Tap or click the Security tab.
• Under Group or user names, tap or click your name to see the permissions that you have.

To change the permissions of a file or folder, follow these steps:

• Press and hold or right-click the file or folder, and then tap or click
  Properties.
• Tap or click the Security tab.
• Under Group or user names, tap or click your name to see the permissions that you have.
• Tap or click Edit, tap or click your name, select the check boxes for the permissions that you must have, and then click
  OK.

Important: You must be logged on as an administrator to change permissions on files and folders.
