Windows 10: Unable to enable HDR on BenQ EW277HDR

This display is HDR10 capable, connected with the provided HDMI 2.0 cable and installed monitor driver (Tried different high speed cable as well, not sure on the version, still no luck.)


Hardware wise I meet the requirement with HDMI 2.0 port and intel 630 dealing with displays until the discrete GPU kicks in games. (Laptop FX503VD, 7th gen intel)





I even installed the HEVC codec which got the HDR to show up on netflix and youtube on edge, but not chrome (Another issue for another time), but that was on my laptop display not my external Benq HDR display.


I contacted Benq over the phone, told me the display could be faulty, so got a replacement and the exact same issue persist, later emailed them after receiving the replacement and basically told to go talk to microsoft.


I have a very good feeling it's a windows issue, tried everything at this point

HDR Streaming grayed out in windows 10

We determined the issue and found out that your computer specs and graphics card are highly capable of enabling HDR and running a 4K video.

Since you've already tested this on Sony TV and its perfectly working fine, we suggest that you
contact your other TV manufacturer’s support team (which is
BenQ) directly for confirmation if this TV is really capable for
streaming HDR videos in Netflix or not.

Netflix has a feature to auto-detect the capability monitors or TVs if they can stream HDR videos or not.

HDR won't enable!

Thanks for your suggestion. I lowered the refresh rate to 30 HZ and still could not toggle the HDR switch to on position.

I also checked the play back with powerdvd17. My projector information recognizes 3840 x 2160 p 60 Hz with HDR 10 BT 2020 when I play a 4K HDR source file

HDR setting in Windows 10 won't stay enabled

Hello,

I recently purchased an HDR/4K-compatible graphics card (a GeForce 1080ti). I have a 4K HDR display (LG C7 65" OLED). When I first installed the card and drivers, the HDR option was turned on by default, and I was getting an HDR signal to the display. However,
the resolution was set to 1920x1080. When I changed the resolution to 4K, HDR turned off. Since then, I have been unable to get HDR enabled again. When I try to enable HDR, the setting just turns itself off again, like so:

This is not an issue with my display or receiver, as I'm able to get HDR out of my PS4 just fine, and I don't believe it to be an issue with my HDMI cable either, since I was getting HDR out of the PC when I first installed the card.

I'm not sure what other steps to take. I ran dxdiag, and it appears that it's not detecting the full color range:

Display Color Space: DXGI_COLOR_SPACE_RGB_FULL_G22_NONE_P709 (as per this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/4040263/windows-10-hdr-advanced-color-settings).

From that same article, it appears to be detecting the display as HDR compatible:
