Windows 10: Unable to enable "windows subsystem for Linux: - OS : Home Windows 11 Home Single Language...

Hello – Am trying to install Ubuntu on Windows 11 Intel based Laptop, OS: Home Windows 11 Home Single Language / Ver: 21H2 / Build#: 22000.376. As a pre-requisite am trying to enable the windows feature from Programs of Control-Panel. But am getting the error like“An attempt to create space in the transactional resource manager’s log failed. The failure status has been recorded in the event log.Error Code : 0x80071AB1 “On checking the Event Viewer could see the below“The transaction resource manager on volume C: was unable to create free space in its log due to a non-retryab

WSL - Enabling Windows Subsystem for Linux

I have windows 10, version 1803, OS build 17134.37

In powershell as administrator, I run the command:

enable-windowsoptionalfeature -online -featurename microsoft-windows-subsystem-linux

and receive error:

enable-windowsoptionalfeature : the referenced assembly could not be found.

I don't have it blocked in my firewall, what can I do to resolve this?

I understand that you have downloaded Linux Terminal from Microsoft Store and you are getting an error when running the PowerShell command. However, as per the article

Windows Subsystem for Linux Installation Guide for Windows 10 you need to run the PowerShell command first and then install the required Linux distribution from the store. I suggest you to try running the PowerShell command
first and check.
