Windows 10: Unable to enter computer pin number

I set-up my new computer yesterday and was in the process of adding links today. The new computer closes and logs me out if left unused for more than a couple minutes but was no problem when I opened it and entered my pin number.Today, I am unable to enter my pin number. When I activate the computer, the sign-in window opens with the pin number bos. However, when I try to type in my pin number, nothing happens. It's the same pin number I've been using on my old computer for about 12 years. Never had a problem until this morning. It works on my old computer but nothing happens when I try to ty

In order to get clarity on the issue, please reply with the following details:

• Does this issue occur on any specific application?
  
• Are you unable to type any number or just facing issues in typing 5109?
  
• Are you aware of any changes on the computer prior to this issue?
  

In the meantime, I suggest you to check if the NUM lock key is on or not. If not, please press it to turn on NUM lock and try entering the numbers.



Also, you can try turning off Filter keys and check. Please follow the steps mentioned below to turn off Filter keys:

1. Press Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type control and click on
   OK.
   
3. Now, select Large icons for
   View by from the drop down.
   
4. Click on Ease of access.
   
5. Click on Make the keyboard easier to use.
   
6. Clear the check box for Turn on Filter keys.
   
7. Click on OK.

Enter PIN number twice every login

After a recent update (not sure which, the first couple times I thought I had entered the pin wrong), I enter my pin number (correctly), and the screen refreshes and I have to reenter the pin, this time the pc accepts it and logs in.

I am making sure that I am entering the pin correctly, but it still won't accept it first time.


Also, and I don't know if it's related or not, but I have an update that won't install. It just says that "unable to install updates undoing changes". Only mentioning it just in case it is relevant.

 

Can't enter PIN for Headset

I'm grateful for your replies. I obviously haven't done a good job of explaining. Here are snips of the windows involved. I have done all the steps suggested, but I can't directly enter the PIN in the larger window. That seems to be my only problem. Plantronics hasn't answered yet, but I'll hope they come through.
