Windows 10: Unable to enter PIN on ENTER PASSWORD line of Microsoft account window

I start my computer and a window comes up stating Your PIN is no longer available due to a change to the security settings on this device. click to set up your PIN again. So I click on Set up your pin and it takes me to a Microsoft account window. ENTER PASSWORD, when I go to type my password or PIN the key board does not work to type in the number or letters. How do I unlock this so I can enter my PIN?

You may have missed a step. After the un-check, click apply, then the next screen will ask for the Pasword twice. Enter and OK. Then OK again. That should do it.

Matthew, if I understand this correctly, that is used to sign in to your Microsoft Account On Line. It has no connection to the sign-in/log on to Windows, which you have fixed.

If you go to your MS account on-line in any way, you will need to enter your password, not PIN, password.

The NETPLWIZ we did the other day was ONLY for the log in to Windows on your machine, nothing else.

Password will be required any time you want to sign in to your Microsoft Account, or any of it's areas, such as OneDrive, Outlook, etc.

1. I have linked my Microsoft account to my digital license.
2. Via "netplwiz", I have deselected "User must enter a user name and password to use this computer" for the said account.
3. I have set a Windows Hello PIN.
4. At Windows startups, I have to enter either the password or the PIN.

How can I spare the trouble of entering them?
