Windows 10: Unable to Extend volume or create a new volume from an unallocated partition Win server 2012R2

Hi guys,Im trying to extend the the disk space on a win2021 server VM. Im trying to extend it from 2 TB to 3TB. I extended the HD space on the vsphere, and i can see the unallocated space in the server Computer Management, but Im not able to use it, as you can see from below. I am the admin. Any suggestions?

Creating a new partition in Windows 10.

To create a new partition, the hard disk drive must contain unallocated space that is not part of an existing partition. Shrink the volume on an existing drive to create unallocated space, then create and format a new partition, using the following steps.

• 
  In Windows, search for and open Create and format hard disk partitions.
  
• 
  Right-click the Windows (C drive, or another drive on the computer.
  
  
• 
  Click Shrink Volume... from the drop-down menu to create unallocated space.

  The Shrink window opens.

  Without making any changes to the settings in the Shrink window, click
  Shrink.

  When the shrink process is complete, the new partition displays in the Disk Management utility as Unallocated space.

Unable to Use Unallocated Space to Extend Partition

Okay...thanks. Will look at it tomorrow. FYI, I figured out how to get that unformatted G partition back into D.

In Disk Management, I right clicked G and selected "Delete Volume." That rendered the partition as unallocated. I was then able to extend D with that space.
