  1. Unable to extract x64 image. Run Coreinfo from a writeable directory.

    I'd be grateful for any advice people might be able to offer on this;

I have an old PC with the following spec:
    Processor IntelR CoreTM i3-4005U CPU @ 1.70GHz 1.70 GHz
Installed RAM 4.00 GB 2.44 GB usable
System type 32-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display

It's running Windows 10 32-bit ver. 2004 and I want to change that to 64-bit.

As preparation, I'm trying to run coreinfo to check that the CPU is compatible, but it quits on me with the error:

    Unsupported processor type: 0
Unable to extract x64 image. Run Coreinfo from a writeable directory.

The i3-4005U is an x64 CPU, albeit a very old one - can anybody tell me:
    >Why won't coreinfo run?
    >Will Windows 10 64-bit install successfully?

From what I've read, I have to do a clean install to "upgrade" to 64-bit, so if the install fails, there's no way back...

    Thanks for any help :

    :)

Unsupported processor type: 0 Unable to extract x64 image. Run Coreinfo from a writeable directory

    Hi Abhishek Robin

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

CoreInfo has a bug that reports 'Unsupported processor type' that does not mean you cannot install the 64bit version of Windows 10, you an, because your processor supports the 64bit Instruction set . . . there is no need to change anything on your Processor:

    https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/pro...

To go from the 32bit version to the 6bit version you will need to backup all your files, clean install Windows 10 64bit form a bootable USB, then re-install all your software and restore your data . .
