And, yes I understand that support has ended. Now, I am going to beg for your assistance. Please. I actually became computer obsessed as a senior in HS 1983. And ever since, I have continued learning by experimenting, failing, succeeding and having to completely re-install my os. Im not talking a blue screen... Im talking vertical lines across the screen of my new IBM.

    Refurb Dell Optiplex 5040 won't run Windows 10.

    I've had only 1 issue with Crucial RAM, seems an old Dell Dimension 2350 is not part of the Dell Dimension 2300 Series, cross-shipment solved the problem in 2 days.

    Regarding the Version data in your Post #14, as far as I know there was not a Version 1901, there were 1903 and 1909 Versions. Versions for 2020 have different months.
    19 is for the year 2019 and 03 or 09 is for the month of release, March and September.
    Refurb Dell Optiplex 5040 won't run Windows 10.

    Dell Optiplex , Win 10 , no sound from headphone jack

    Dell Optiplex 790
    Win 10 Pro
    Intel Core i5
    240gb SSD
    8g RAM
    On-board sound card which I believe is a Realtek...
    I bought this refurbished today with Win 10 already installed , however it does not deliver sound to the headphone jack.
    The control panel shows only "High Definition Audio Device (2x)" , and I can hear sound from internal speakers.
    I have already seen posts on the Dell forum which suggest Win 10 not compatible with available Dell drivers.
    Suggestions please ?

    Refurb Dell Optiplex 5040 won't run Windows 10.

    As for the RAM display, I have a Refurbished Dell Latitude 3340 Notebook that shows 8GB in System but when looking in Performance in Task Manager it shows only 7.9GB but some is for Hardware Reserved so shows it has only 7.9GB available. This is one situation where, like hand grenades and horseshoes, close counts.
