Windows 10: unable to get bitlocker key since microsoft needs 30 days to verify my alternative email...

Hello there,My very new laptop asked me for my bitlocker key and as I tried to sign in in my microsoft account I could not get to it because microsoft texts me on a phone number I do not longer use. So instead I changed the method of verification with an email, and microsoft takes 30 days to continue this process meaning that I can not have access to the bitlocker key because of that!!I can sign in and see my emails and my devices but the page with the bitlocker key is not accessible to me. I tried to reach out to customer support but all their lines are just bots and really not helpful, same

Trying to get bitlocker key but Microsoft has locked me out of account for 30 days!!

I am trying to get a bitlocker key for my surface pro 3 that was destroyed after a windows update. SO I try to log in to my account to get the key only it forces me to enter a security code. I enter the details for it to send me the security code. It doesn't
arrive.

I see on here this has been an ongoing problem for years with many complaints about it. So I tried an alternative verification with a new email address. Now I am locked out for 30 days whilst they verify the new security details. HOW REDICULOUS IS THIS!!

I tried to contact support but its a stupid robot. Absolutely fuming. How can I get the bitlocker code I need so I can re-install windows on my device? I cannot wait 30 days for this.

I understand your concern with regards to your Microsoft account.

The 30 days wait time is for Microsoft to verify any security information on any Microsoft account. This goes for both the alternate email address and phone number. The 30 days is the maximum wait time but it usually takes a week if there's no problem with
the alternate email address. I actually changed mine before and it only took me a little over 1 week for the changes to appear.

If you need further assistance with your Microsoft account, I would suggest getting in touch with a Microsoft technician over the chat or phone since they would be able to check the status of your account on their end.
